To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced full-time Producer to join k2 Americas in New York City.
Working closely with senior production leadership, Creative, Design, and Account teams, the Producer will manage the development and delivery of events and brand experiences from concept through completion. This role is suited to a confident and highly organized producer who can independently manage projects and workstreams while recognizing when to seek guidance or escalate key decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
EVENT PRODUCTION AND EXECUTION
• Manage the production and delivery of events, exhibitions, activations, and brand experiences from initial planning through on-site execution and final reconciliation.
• Independently lead small- to medium-scale projects while supporting Senior Producers and Executive Producers on large-scale or highly complex productions.
• Participate in and, when appropriate, lead project kick-off meetings, establishing clear objectives, responsibilities, deliverables, and timelines.
• Develop and maintain production schedules, critical paths, contact sheets, call sheets, project trackers, and other essential production documentation.
• Coordinate production and technical elements, including venues, spatial design, staging, lighting, audiovisual, scenic fabrication, catering, staffing, transportation, guest experience, and operational logistics.
• Collaborate with Creative and Design teams to evaluate the feasibility of concepts and support their translation into practical, high-quality production solutions.
• Source, brief, coordinate, and manage vendors, fabricators, venues, freelancers, and specialist partners.
• Conduct site visits and support technical surveys, installations, rehearsals, event execution, and breakdowns.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop practical solutions in collaboration with senior production leadership.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout all phases of production, ensuring that projects meet k2’s standards of quality, craftsmanship, and client service.
CLIENT AND TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Serve as a reliable day-to-day point of contact for clients on assigned projects and workstreams.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with clients, providing accurate updates on schedules, deliverables, budgets, and production developments.
• Build positive and professional client relationships through responsiveness, transparency, discretion, and thoughtful problem solving.
• Coordinate internal teams, freelancers, vendors, and external partners to ensure alignment across all project phases.
• Manage Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, freelancers, and on-site personnel as required.
• Delegate tasks clearly, follow up on deliverables, and help maintain accountability across the project team.
• Escalate significant creative, financial, scheduling, client, or operational concerns to senior leadership at the appropriate time.
• Participate confidently in client meetings, site visits, presentations, rehearsals, and on-site engagements.
• Support collaboration across international teams in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia when required.
• Represent k2 and The Independents with professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions.
BUDGET AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Build and manage project budgets with support and oversight from senior production leadership.
• Request, review, and compare vendor estimates, ensuring that costs align with the approved scope and production requirements.
• Maintain accurate and current budget trackers, purchase orders, invoices, and financial records.
• Monitor project spending and communicate potential overages, savings, scope changes, and financial risks promptly.
• Support contract administration, vendor negotiations, procurement, and payment tracking.
• Assist with change orders and ensure that additional client requests are documented and approved before costs are committed.
• Complete project reconciliation accurately and on schedule.
• Contribute to the financial health and profitability of assigned projects.
TEAM CONTRIBUTION
• Support Production Coordinators and junior team members by providing clear guidance, sharing knowledge, and modeling strong production practices.
• Contribute to a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented team environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Participate in project debriefs and help document learnings, vendor feedback, and recommendations for future productions.
• Share production resources, processes, and best practices across the team.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; education in Event Management, Hospitality, Production, Business, or a related field is an advantage.
• Approximately 4–6 years of experience producing high-quality events, exhibitions, activations, brand experiences, or hospitality projects, preferably within an agency environment.
• Experience independently managing small- to medium-scale projects or clearly defined workstreams within larger productions.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary internal teams, vendors, freelancers, fabricators, venues, and technical partners.
• Working knowledge of event production disciplines, including scenic fabrication, lighting, audiovisual, staging, venue operations, staffing, catering, transportation, and guest logistics.
• Strong project-management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, documentation, risk tracking, and cross functional coordination.
• Experience preparing and maintaining production budgets and completing project reconciliations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to interact professionally with clients, creative teams, vendors, venues, and international stakeholders.
• Professional fluency in English required; additional languages, particularly French, Italian, Spanish, or Mandarin, is considered an asset.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams simultaneously.
• Calm, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
• Strong attention to detail and an appreciation for luxury craftsmanship, design, hospitality, and elevated guest experiences.
• Ability to receive direction, work independently, and recognize when decisions or risks should be escalated.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Apple ecosystem, budgeting tools, and presentation software.
• Familiarity with event permitting, health and safety requirements, Certificates of Insurance, Temporary Place of Assembly requirements, fire regulations, noise restrictions, and other relevant municipal approvals.
• Experience working with premium vendors, fabricators, production partners, and venue teams.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally and to work evenings, weekends, and extended on-site periods when required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
PHYSICAL AND SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% or more of the time while working remotely and in a standing position for 50% or more of the time while working off-site.
• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
• Must be available to travel domestically and internationally when required.
COMPENSATION
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000–$105,000, commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set.
